The market saw a huge uptick in the usage of Exhuast Gas Temperature Sensors (EGTS) on trucks and other diesel vehicles in 2007, with the shift in EPA laws requiring OEM’s to reduce greenhouse gas levels in diesel exhaust gas. This constant thermal cycling causes these sensors to seize up in their respective locations, leading to brittleness and breakage during routine maintenance and system service, etc.
