Description
Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Fluid (1 Liter) – Liqui Moly LM20110
Fitment
Universal Diesel Applications with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
When the diesel particulate filter reaches its maximum working capacity, the ECU (electronic control unit) automatically starts the filter regeneration program: more diesel fuel is injected and the exhaust gas temperature increases. These high exhaust gas temperatures usually burn away the soot particles. But when diesel vehicles are used for short-distance trips the diesel particulate filter does not always reach temperatures high enough to burn the accumulated soot particles.
The result: The filter gets clogged.
With the specially developed Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Set the filter can be cleaned in a fast and economical manner without having to replace it. The only things you need to clean the filter are our Pro-Line Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner and our Pro-Line Diesel Particulate Filter Purge to use in the DPF Pressurized Tank Spray Gun.
Description
A highly effective fluid for cleaning soot clogged DPF units without disassembly. Dissolves contaminants inside the DPF restores vehicle performance and fuel consumption. Regular servicing of DPF units can help avoid expensive repair costs. Use only together with Pro-Line Diesel Particulate Filter Purge (part no. LM20112). To apply use DPF Pressurized Tank Spray Gun (part no. LM7946) and DPF-Probe with 5 interchangeable tips (part no. LM7945).
Properties
- regeneration aid for diesel particulate filters
- guarantees low fuel consumption
- maximum engine performance
- reduces operating costs
Application
Cleaning is made with the compressed air gun for DPF (part no. LM7946) and the specially developed DPF Probe with 5 interchangeable tips (part no. LM7945).
STEP 1
The diesel particle filter must be accessed depending on the vehicle type. In order to do this, the temperature or pressure sensor on the diesel particle filter must be removed and used as an access port for the spray tip.
Observe:
When cleaning, the particle filter’s temperature should be below 40 °C (104 °F). On some vehicles, the diesel particle filter is located near to the exhaust manifold or, optionally, the turbocharger, and not on the vehicle underbody. For safety reasons, utmost care must be taken when cleaning such vehicles – cleaning or flushing liquid may otherwise enter the combustion chamber through an open exhaust valve.
STEP 2
The appropriate Pro-Line spray probe for the vehicle type is then fed into the particle filter through the opening after sensor removal. The full container of Pro-Line cleaner for diesel particle filters (1 Liter) is sprayed directly onto the surface of the particle filter in intervals of 5 to 10 seconds (each with a break of 5 to 10 seconds in between) at an operating pressure of 6 to 8 bar (87 to 116 psi). The probe must be rotated and moved back and forth during cleaning in order to cover as much of the filter surface as possible.
Once the full bottle of Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Fluid (1 Liter) LM20110 has been used, wait at least 15 minutes and then refill your spray bottle with Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Purge (500ml) LM20112.
STEP 3
Follow the same procedure as in STEP 2 above with Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Purge (500ml) LM20112.
The particulate deposits are dissolved during the cleaning process and distributed around the diesel particle filter, where they can then be burned off as part of normal regeneration.
STEP 4
After reinstalling the sensor, you must force regeneration according to the manufacturers’ instructions.
