High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) for 2003-2007 6.0L Powerstroke

Ford’s 6.0 Powerstroke turbo-diesel V-8 engine is known to have some issues with its lubrication system.

Commonly, the engine’s high-pressure oil pump will fail or have leaking seals. The 6.0 HPOP pressurizes the engine’s oil to at least 3,000 psi before the oil compresses fuel in the injectors. Signs of a malfunctioning HPOP include an oil pressure reading outside the 600-700 psi range at idle or the 3,000-4,000 psi range while under load. +Read more
