It’s not uncommon for Ford’s 6.7-liter Powerstroke V-8 to have issues with its fuel system.
This generation of the Powerstroke engine uses a high pressure fuel pump system. However, because of the 6.7 Powerstroke fuel pump’s metal-on-metal contact, the Bosch CP4.2 injection pump can fail, and the resulting contamination can wreak havoc on the rest of the fuel system.
