The single Garrett VGT GT3782 turbocharger is prone to soot buildup, which can cause the vanes to become stuck open and lead to increased spool times and poor throttle response. Oil cooking is also an issue due to an inadequate oil drain tube design. In addition, the turbo bearing can fail, sending bits and pieces in to the engine’s cylinders and causing catastrophic damage.
