A slipping transmission while changing gears is commonly caused because of a defective solenoid, a blown fuse, or a misaligned transmission range sensor. Additionally, the 4R100 can leak from the front area of the transmission. Both the front seal and the 7.3 Powerstroke torque converter hub can wear out over time, causing fluids to seep out. If either issue is neglected, the transmission may require replacement.
