If you find that your Ford Super Duty is lacking boost, producing an excess amount of soot, or has increased exhaust gas temperatures, the 7.3 Powerstroke up pipes may be cracked and leaking around the collector flanges or by the firewall, requiring replacement. Also, the 7.3’s exhaust back pressure valves, which are located between the turbocharger and the exhaust downpipe, can become stuck in the open position.
