The Powerstroke name has been used by Ford for its line of diesel engines since 1994. You’ll find Powerstroke diesel engines in the Ford F-series including the Ford Super Duty trucks, the Ford E-Series line of vans, Ford Excursion SUV and the Ford LCF (Low Cab Forward). The Powerstroke engines range in size and include 7.3L, 6.0L, 4.5L, 6.4L and 6.7L. From 1994 through 2009, the Ford Powerstroke diesel engine was a rebrand of the engine made by Navistar International. Near the end of 2010, Ford produced its own engine with the 6.7L Powerstroke V8 and they continue to this day. The Powerstroke engine is marketed as a competitor to the GM Duramax diesel engine as well as the Dodge Cummins diesel.
